Waste Directory Help

What is the Waste Directory?

You enter the type of waste you want to dispose of and your postcode and the Waste Directory searches a database of licensed or exempt waste disposal and recycling sites in England and Wales. It will find the sites nearest to you that can take the waste types that you've selected.

How do I search the Waste Directory?

1. Enter your postcode or town on the Waste Directory home page.

2. Next, enter the first type of waste you need to dispose of. A list of matching wastes will appear as you type. Select one or more types of waste from the list and it will appear in the selected waste types list.

3. If you have another waste type, clear the waste type and repeat Step 2. You can include up to 10 types of waste per search. You can also remove items from the selected waste types list by deselecting them.

4. Submit the form using the 'find sites' button.

Waste sites will be displayed with the closest waste site that can recycle or dispose of most of your waste at the top. You can look at the results on a map or in a comparison chart.

You can also find out more about each waste site and get directions.

You should always contact the company by telephone before taking your waste to them.

How can I find out how much it will cost to give my waste to the businesses listed?

The Waste Directory doesn't list the cost of disposal or recycling for individual businesses. Therefore, you should contact the business you're considering using and get a quote before taking your waste to them.
